multi-touch concept phones

multi-touch technology is exploding in cell phone design (i still really dont know why...).

here is a list of phones that use multi-touch:

1.) nokia future mobile concept videos 1. and 2. // first video contains motion-based gestures for communicating with other people: tapping phones to swap files, blowing to send messages, similar to my blow-kiss concept. the second video shows a tw0-sided touch-screen, similar in form but not in interaction as my 'under-control' prototype

2.) nec tag phone is a few years old but is still very beautiful. the phone can change shapes so it can wrap around your wrist or become a pendant. very elegant implementation, and inspired some of my ideas for mobile keep-in-touch to have a device that changes shape via communicating with your lover.

3.) onyx from synaptics and pilotfish was the first phone to conceptualize a multi-touch screen. in their work, you can draw the number you want to call, and it can tell when the phone is being touched by a finger or a cheek.

4.) nokia aeon phone came out after the onyx and features a touch surface/display that stretches across the whole phone but is mechanically divided in two segments.
